Acts 16:25-26 New Living Translation (NLT)
25 Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. 26 Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!

I read an article by David T. Koyzis entitled, “Rising at Midnight: Sleep Patterns and Daily Prayer,” which explaines how “our ancestors slept in two stretches during the night, and the hallowed practice of rising at midnight to pray.”  He talks about how Roger Ekirch, professor of History at Virginia Tech discovered the existence of our sleeping twice per night.  This is definitely an interesting read.

There are many scriptures in the Bible that make reference to what takes place at midnight!  God has called a midnight meeting, will you be there?

What’s on HIS agenda?

Thanksgiving: Psalm 119:62 (NIRV)
At midnight I get up to give you thanks
because your decisions are very fair.

Deliverance: Acts 16:25-26 (NIRV)

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying. They were also singing hymns to God. The other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a powerful earthquake. It shook the prison from top to bottom. All at once the prison doors flew open. Everyone’s chains came loose.

Keep Watch: Mark 13:35 (NIRV)

“So keep watch! You do not know when the owner of the house will come back. It may be in the evening or at midnight. It may be when the rooster crows or at dawn.

Revelation and Instruction: Acts 20:7 (TLB)

On Sunday we gathered for a Communion service, with Paul preaching. And since he was leaving the next day, he talked until midnight!

There is a powerful mystery about praying at midnight.  Take the challenge and meet with God at midnight.  Set your alarm clock, get up and attend the meeting.

Genesis 32:24-26 (RSV)
24 And Jacob was left alone; and a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day. 25 When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and Jacob’s thigh was put out of joint as he wrestled with him. 26 Then he said, “Let me go, for the day is breaking.” But Jacob said, “I will not let you go, unless you bless me.”
